Disclaimer
We built Work Well Kept to make recordkeeping easier for drivers. We work hard to get the numbers right, but please read this page so you know what the app can and can’t do. This Disclaimer is part of our Terms of Service.
Work Well Kept does not provide tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. We are not tax preparers, CPAs, enrolled agents, attorneys, or financial advisors, and using the app doesn’t create a professional relationship with us. For advice about your situation, talk to a qualified tax professional.
Estimates are estimates
- Mileage deductions are calculated from the odometer readings you enter and the IRS standard mileage rate we have on file. The IRS sets and changes these rates and can change them mid-year. For example, the IRS business rate for 2026 was 72.5 cents per mile for January–June and 76 cents per mile for July–December. Check current rates at irs.gov.
- Schedule C line mapping is a suggestion to help you organize. You decide how each item is categorized and whether it is deductible.
- Quarterly tax estimates are rough figures based only on what you’ve entered and general assumptions. They don’t know your whole situation, such as other jobs, a spouse’s income, filing status, credits, deductions, state and local taxes, or safe-harbor rules. They aren’t a calculation of what you owe.
- “After fuel (est.)” comparisons use the fuel economy (MPG) and fuel prices you enter or that we estimate. Real fuel use varies with driving, traffic, weather, and vehicle condition, and these comparisons don’t include all vehicle costs (like wear, insurance, or depreciation). They are not a prediction of what you will earn.
Errors and omissions
Despite our care, the app may contain errors, bugs, rounding differences, outdated rates, or missing information, and tax laws change. Information is provided “as is,” without any guarantee that it is complete, accurate, or current. We aren’t responsible for decisions you make or taxes, penalties, or interest you owe based on information from the app. The limits on our responsibility are described in our Terms of Service.
Your records, your responsibility
- Reports are only as accurate as what you enter. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your records and for your tax returns and other filings.
- Keep the original receipts and documents the IRS or your state may require, and export your data regularly.
- Review every report with a qualified tax professional before filing or relying on it.
Income statements
Income and profit-and-loss statements you generate are self-reported from your own entries. Work Well Kept does not verify, audit, or certify them, and we do not provide income verification to anyone. The person or agency receiving a statement decides whether to accept it. Giving false information to a lender, landlord, or government agency can be a crime.
No affiliation with gig companies
Work Well Kept is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon (including Amazon Flex), DoorDash, Walmart (including Spark Driver), Uber, Lyft, Instacart, Grubhub, Shipt, or any other gig or delivery platform.
